I Left My Heart in New York ♥ - DAY #3

Näin alkuun kerron että selvittiin kolmannesta päivästä erittäin vähäsillä eksymisillä, jee! :-D Tälle päivälle oltiin suunniteltu taas Rockefeller Plazalla käymistä (Top of the Rockilla), käytiin katsastaa Central Park ja illalla meillä oli liput varattuna Blue Man Group-nimiseen Broadway Show'n.

First and foremost, I'd like to tell that we survived the third day without getting lost (badly), yay! :-D For this day we had thought of visiting Rockefeller Plaza again (Top of the Rock to be more specific), checking out Central Park and for the night we booked tickets to a Broadway Show called Blue Man Group.

Ensin käytiin tietysti aamupalalla. Otettiin yhteiseks French toastii, eli niinku köyhiä ritareita, crêpe täytettynä Nutellalla ja marjoilla/hedelmillä ja hedelmäsalaattia. Ihanaa! ♥ Tokassa kuvassa ollaanki sitte jo Starbucksissa käyttämäs hyväks ilmasta nettiä ja lukemassa karttoja... hehs.

At first we went to have some breakfast, of course. We took French toast, a crêpe filled with Nutella and berries/fruits and fruit salad. It was wonderful! ♥ The other picture is taken not too long after the breakfast at Starbucks of me using Google Maps once again... lol.

A fountain at Rockefeller Plaza, we sat there so many times!

Perillä vihdoinki istahdettiin suihkulähteen ääreen ja ihmeteltiin maailman menoo. Oltiin siis menossa Rockefeller Centeriin (nyt vihdoinki tiiän et se on se rakennus, eikä tää paikka! :D) sen rakennuksen huipulle, joka on KORKEE, kattomaan maisemia kun oli kehuttu paikkaa ja sais kuulemma hienoja kuvia. Harmi vaan että illalla ois saanu miljoona kertaa hienompia kuvia, en saanu päivällä mitään hirveen ihmeellistä matskua.

When we arrived we just sat by the fountain for a while and wondered things happening around us haha! We were heading to Rockefeller Center's (now I know the building is called Rockefeller Center, not the whole place! :D) top, which is VERY high, to look at the views because we heard they look beautiful. Too bad I could have gotten way better pictures during night time. In the daylight the view didn't look too miraculous, so I didn't get much pictures.

Vietettiin tovi yläilmoissa ja ihailtiin maisemia. Ku tultiin alas törmättiin Mangolia Bakeryyn, josta saa tosi hyvä cupcakeja, otettiin niitä muutamat mukaan ja suunnattiin Central Parkiin syömään ne. Cupcaket oli tosi ihania, söpöjä ja ihan übermakeita! :D Oli huvittavaa istuu siinä kivellä syömässä niitä ku jengi lenkkeili ohi koko ajan XD

We spent a while at the top of the building adoring the views. When we came back down to earth we came across Mangolia Bakery and we heard you get the best cupcakes from there! We bought a couple of cupcakes and headed to Central Park to eat them. They were so good and cute but way too sweet to our liking! :D It was quite funny to just sit there on a rock eating them while people were jogging behind and in front of us XD

Tultiin takas hotellille hyvissä ajoin koska ei todellakaan haluttu myöhästyy tänä iltana! :D Kerettiin levätä jopa muutama tunti siinä huoneessa ennen lähtöä ja oltiin tosi hyvin ajoissa Astor Place Theatrella. Oltiin siis kattomassa Blue Man Groupia ja en oikeen tienny mitä odottaa koko esitykseltä. Teatteri oliki aika pieni ja intiimi paikka, eikä sinne tarvinnu pukeutuu mitenkää hienosti. Jo alusta alkaen mulle tuli kuitenki hyvät vibat tulevasta showsta koska jo esityksen alkuu odottaessa screenille tuli yhtäkkiä esim. teksti miehen ja naisen nimistä jota seuras se, että tää ko. mies kosi naisystäväänsä siinä keskellä teatteria :D Ah rupesin itkee ♥ Niiiin söpöä!

We went back to the hotel early because we definitely didn't want to miss our Broadway Show tonight! :D We managed to rest about a couple of hours and we left to Astor Place Theatre early too. As said, we went to see Blue Man Group and I didn't know what to expect. The theatre was quite small and intimate and people didn't need to dress up fancy. From the beginning I got a feeling the show's gonna be very good, because even before the whole show started I found myself crying from happiness and cheering as loud as I could, because a cute couple got engaged right in front of everyone's eyes there! Soooo cute! ♥

Esitys oli todellakin ainutlaatunen ja en oo kokenu samanlaista missään!!! Siis ihan älyttömän upee meno, varsinki koska oli pieni tila se teki siitä vielä paremman! Siinä esiinty kolme sinistä miestä, jotka ei puhunu, ei näyttäny mitään ilmeitä vaan soitti ja näytteli tosi taitavasti ja ihmeellisesti. Oli maalia ja neonvaloja ja strobovaloja ja hohtavia pylväitä ja vessapaperia joka hohti ja ja ja äää se oli uskomatonta :D Se oli niin psykedeelistä! Esitystä ei saanu kuvata, mut koitan ettiä Youtubesta jotain hyviä kohtia.

The show was totally unique and I have never experienced anything like that before!!! It was crazy and especially having only little room made it even better! There were three men dressed in blue, they didn't speak or show any facial expressions, they only played music with the weirdest instruments and acted very skillfully. There was paint, neon lights, strobe lights, glowing pillars and toilet paper that glowed and and and aaah it was unbelievable! :D It was so psychedelic! It was forbidden to record the show so I'll find some good ones from Youtube.

I Left My Heart in New York ♥ - DAY #2

Toisena päivänä herättiin aikasin jo 6 jälkeen, vaikka oltiin about 23 tuntii valvottu edellisenä päivänä. Onko tämä nyt se jet lag? Tehtiin itestämme ihmisten näkösiä ja oltiin liikenteessä aikasin! En halunnu tuhlaa yhtää turhaa aikaa hotellilla. Luonnollisesti mentiin ekaks aamupalalle, oltiin edellisenä iltana bongattu ihan meijän läheltä joku breakfast-mesta ja mentiin sinne.

We woke up very early after 6 AM even though we had stayed up for almost 23 hours. Is this the jet lag? After making us look like proper human beings we left the hotel. I didn't want to waste any time at the hotel so it was a good thing we got to start our day early! Naturally, we wanted to have some breakfast first. We had seen a nice looking place that said 'breakfast' yesterday so we decided to give it a try.

 Päätettiin ottaa perinteistä amerikkalaista aamupalaa eli pannukakkua ja bagelia. Oli liian hyvää :D

We decided to have traditional American breakfast, pancakes and bagel. It was too good :D

Tälle päivälle meil oli suunnitelmissa käydä Century 21:ssa, joka on outlet-myymälä. Kaikkee ihanaa halvalla ♥ Siinä samalla haluttiin käydä tsekkaamassa Rockefeller Plazassa sijaitseva Nintendo World Store! :)

On that day we had planned to visit an outlet store Century 21. Lovely things and cheap prices ♥ We also decided to visit Nintendo World Store which is located in Rockefeller Plaza.

Ei taaskaan löydetty ihan helpolla perille... Luultiin että mentiin oikeeseen suuntaan mut ei tietenkään :D Mut kivaahan se kiertely oli ja mukavat ihmiset neuvo. Vahingossa päädyttiin vissiin World Trade Centerin muistomerkille ja siihen mihin rakennetaan uus ja vielä korkeempi rakennus. Ihan kiva nähä sekin nopeesti. C21:sta löysin ihanan Juicy Couturen laukun ja Guessin lompakon ♥

We got a bit lost again... We thought we were going to the right direction but of course not :D Though it was nice to just stroll around and people were very helpful. Accidentally, we walked past World Trade Center's memorial and saw the building they're gonna build even taller. It was nice to see it quickly. From C21 I bought a lovely bag by Juicy Couture and a wallet by Guess ♥

Shoppailun jälkeen lähettiin suunnistamaan Rockefeller Centeriin vai Plazalle EN TIIÄ VIELÄKÄÄ KUMPI SE ON! :D Kumminki, Rockefeller Plaza oli tosi kivan näkönen paikka, siitä enemmän kuvia myöhemmin ku käytiin siellä varmaan 3 kertaa! Nintendo Store löydettiin melkeenpä vahingossa, siinä se oli lärvin edessä ku tultiin metrosta ja voi apua en meinannu saada henkee eka!

After shopping we headed to Rockefeller Center, or Plaza, I STILL DON'T KNOW WHICH ONE IT IS! :D Anyway, Rockefeller Plaza looked very nice, more pictures later! We found Nintendo Store easily, it was right in front of our faces when we left the subway. And oh my God, I almost couldn't breathe! I was so excited!

En ottanu kauheesti kuvia koska keskityin vaan olennaiseen :-D Muutenkin kaupoissa kuvailusta voi saada sakkoa :| Vähän otin videoo, joka on alempana! Ensis siis katsastin alakerran perusteellisesti läpi. Se oli täynnä kaikkee fanikrääsää: figuureja, pehmoleluja, mukeja ja jopa lehtiöitä, joissa oli esim. pianon nuotit Nintendon biiseille, harmi ku en osaa lukee niitä kunnolla :D Keskellä oli myös sohva, jossai sai kokeilla DS käsikonsoleita. Oli hauskaa nähä aikuisii kokeilemassa niitä :D Sen jälkeen ku oli keränny mun korin täyteen kaikkee ihanaa pelasin vähän aikaa Super Mario Bros.:ia! :)

I didn't take that much photos because I was concentrating on important things :-D Besides, you can't get penalty for recording in a shop :| I recorded some videos, that you can see lower! At first I checked out the lower floor. It was filled with fan stuff: figures, plushies, mugs and even books that showed notes for piano if you wanted to play Nintendo songs, too bad I can't read them well enough :D In the middle there was a couch where you were able to try Nintendo DS's. It was fun to see adults holding and trying them :D Not in Finland! After I had picked up everything I wanted to buy I played Super Mario Bros.! :)

Yläkerrassa shoppailu jatku, siellä oli vaatteita enimmäkseen. Yhessä nurkassa oli myös lasivitriininejä täynnä historiallista Nintendokamaa, esim. sodassa selvinny Game Boy Color, Miyamoton ja Masudan nimikirjotuksella varustetut GBASP käsikonsoli ja lehti... ihanaa!!! Yläkerrassa sain myös kokeilla VIHDOINKIN marraskuussa markkinoille saapuvaa Wii U:ta! ♥ Pelaajia oli paljon ja en ehtiny kokeilla kauheen kauaa, mut oli ihan mahtavaa!

On the second floor there were Nintendo related clothes and accessories. There were also vitrines full of historic Nintendo stuff. For example a Game Boy Color that was bombed in a war and still works, a GBASP with Miyamoto's autograph and a magazine with Masuda's autograph, AMAZING!!! Also, I was able to FINALLY try out Wii U which is released in November! ♥ There were lots of gamers so I didn't have the time to play properly, but it was so so amazing!

Ah, vallan ihana paikka! Samana päivänä meillä ois ollu pöytävaraus jossain raflassa mut lol muistettiin aika väärin joten se siitä :D Oltiin taas ihan naatteja kävelystä, niin päätettiin vaan kävellä jonnekki hotellin kulman taakse tsekkaa rafloja. Päädyttiin taas syömään aasialaista :D Ei oltu aamupalan jälkeen syöty mitään ni tilattiin eka alkupalat ja sitte pääruoka, never again! Ois pitäny muistaa et Amerikassa kaikki on isompaa, oli siinä vähän pokassa pitämistä ku ne länttäs alkupalojen jälkeen 2 kiloo nuudelia naaman eteen. Söin itelleni mukavan ähkyn sitte...

Ah, what a lovely place! On the same day we had a reservation to an Asian fusion restaurant but lol we remembered the time wrong so we missed it :D We were so tired from all the walking that we just walked into the nearest restaurant which was Asian food again :D We hadn't been eaten anything after the breakfast so we figured it would be good to order appetizers first, ugh, never again! We should have remembered that everything's bigger in America and I almost started to cry and laugh at the same time when the main course was served. There was like 2 kilograms of noodle! :D A bloat was guaranteed...

I Left My Heart in New York ♥ - DAY #1

Voi että sentään mikä reissu takana! Ihan jumalattoman upeat 5 päivää tuli vietettyä siis New Yorkissa Manhattanilla Lauran kanssa. Näin nopeesti ja lyhyesti voin tiivistää matkan kertomalla, että joka päivä riitti uutta ja ihanaa nähtävää, joka päivä oppi enemmän miten käyttäytyä ja kulkea Manhattanilla ja lupaan että vaikka oli eka, niin ei suinkaan vika kerta ku Amerikkaan lähen, ei varmana!!!

Dear God! What a trip! So, I got to spend 5 super amazing days in New York, Manhattan with my best friend Laura. Briefly, every day was filled up with new and lovely places, every day we learned how to act and use the public traffic in Manhattan and I promise this won't be the last time I visit America, though, it was the first time, I PROMISE!!!

Kirjotan jokasesta päivästä erillisen postauksen ja viimeseen laitan pienen koostevideon siitä kaikesta mitä tuli aina silloin tällöin kuvailtua puhelimella. Alotetaan!

Oltiin vietetty yö Helsingissä ja keskiviikkona 24.10. lähettiin lentokentälle 11 aikaan aamupäivällä. Lämpötila oli koko matkan ajan about sen 14-20 astetta, joten oli ihanaa ku ei tarvinnu mitään hirveitä vaatekerroksia iskee niskaan. Pipo pysy silti päässä, edelleen, SE ON ASUSTE! Mut myönnetään et tuli välillä vähä turhan kuuma sen kanssa...

Tietysti käytiin heti Starbucksissa kahvilla, se ku on niin luksusta (vaikka näin matkan jälkeen se tuntuu enemmän ku itsestäänselvyydeltä). Toi mun kahvi kuulutettiin enkuks haha! Hieno nimi.

We had spent the night at Helsinki and on Wednesday (24th of October) we headed to the airport at 11 AM. The temperature in NY was around 14-20 degrees (57-68 degrees in Fahrenheit) everyday, so it was very nice to not to have to put on that much clothes you would have needed in Finland. Still, I was wearing a beanie all the time! ONCE AGAIN: it's an accessory!!! But I have to admit it was maybe a little too hot at times...

Of course we went to grab some coffee from Starbucks, it is such luxury for us (even though after my trip I'm taking it for granted). I was served in English due to that name, haha! What an awesome name.

Lento lähti siis kahen jälkeen päivällä ja kesti vähän yli 8 tuntia. Lento tuntu niiiiin pitkältä ja tylsältä. Yritin nukkuu et olis menny nopeemmin, mut mä en oikee koskaa oo osannu nukkuu kunnolla muualla ku sängyssä.

The flight left at 2:10 PM which is 7:10 AM in New York and took about 8 hours. The flight felt soooo long and boring! I tried to sleep so the time would have gone faster but actually I haven't ever been able to sleep well anywhere else than in bed.

Saavuttiin joskus kolmen aikaan paikallista aikaa, eli periaatteessa olis voinu ajatella et oli menny vaan tunti siitä ku lähettiin :D Siinä piti sitte samoilla silmillä jaksaa iltaan asti uudestaan, mut eipä se kauheesti tuottanu ongelmia. Mulla ei heti tullu mitään "OMG MÄ OON AMERIKASSA"-fiilistä, eikä oikeestaan jännittänykkää. En totta puhuen ees tienny mitä jännittää, en oikeen ollu etukäteen perehtyny siihen et millasta New Yorkissa on.

Suunnattiin JFK:n lentokentältä suoraan hotellille ja ihmettelin ekaks sitä hirveetä taksien määrää. Ylhäällä kuvaa meidän hotellista ja "kotikadusta" :D Kello tais olla jo jotain kuuden pintaan ku saavuttiin, koska maahantulotarkastukseen jonottaminen kesti vähintään tunnin. Sitä ollaa niin tarkkoja täällä...

Anyways, ilta ku oli ja piti yrittää pysytellä hereillä, käytiin taas tietysti ekana lähimmässä Starbucksissa, jossa päätin kokeilla jääkahvia ekaa kertaa. Hyi :D Päätettiin suunnata Times Squarelle päin, oli kuulemma suht lähellä meijän hotellia. No niinhän se oli, mut silti "eksyttiin" ja käveltiin jostain ihan ihme paikkojen kautta :D Yritettiin parhaamme mukaan tajuta sitä avenue-street-järjestelmää mut eihän siitä aluks tullu oikeen mitään.

We arrived at 3 PM local time, so basically you could think it only took an hour to get to America :D The mission of the day was to try to be able to stay awake until the night, but actually it wasn't even a problem. I didn't get the "OMG I'M IN AMERICA, BITCHES"-feeling and I wasn't even nervous. To be honest, I didn't even know of what to be nervous about. I didn't really think of what is it like in New York. 

From JFK Airport we headed straight to our hotel and the first thing I was wondering was the super huge amount of taxis. The clock was about 6 PM when we checked in to our hotel, because it took so much time to go through all of those security things at the airport. They are way more careful than in Finland! 

Anyways, as we had to try to stay awake and it was night time already we decided to check out Times Square due to we heard it was near to our hotel. But of course we grabbed some coffee from Starbucks at first. This time instead of "One tall Chai Latte, please" I decided to try out iced coffee. Yuck :D And even though Times Square really was near to us, we managed to get lost. We ended up walking to the wrong direction again and again and tried our best to figure out the Avenue-Street-system but didn't quite understand it well enough yet :D

Löydettiin lopulta paikalle, jossa oli vähän enemmän värikkäitä ja kirkkaita valoja/mainoksia ja aateltiin et ollaan vihdoinki löydetty vähän lähemmäks määränpäätä :D Kauhee nälkä kuris mahassa kans ja Roastown Coffeen mainos oli niin söpö et mentiin sinne kattoo jotain syötävää. Tuol oli kolme keittiöö joista just se nuudelikeittokeittiö oli kiinni, oltas haluttu jotain kuumaa :( Päädyttiin sit ihan vaan sushiin ku sai kaks laatikkoo yhen hinnalla. Laitoin kyl heti merkille miten mukavaa henkilökuntaa kaikissa paikoissa oli :)

Finally we found an area with lots of colorful lights and ads so we thought we are getting closer to our destination :D We were pretty hungry and Roastown Coffee's ad caught our attention so we decided to eat there. There were three kitchens but unfortunately the one that served noodle soup was closed, we would have wanted something hot to eat :( In the end we ate just sushi because if we bought two boxes we only needed to pay for one. I immediately noticed how nice the staff was everywhere :)

Kiitos wi-fi, pystyttiin käyttää karttaa ja kattoo että mihin meijän oikeen pitää mennä :D Löydettiin siis vihdoin oikee reitti! Times Square oli todellaki jotain. Pimeellä varsinki näytti tosi upeelta. Ärsytti vaan tosi paljon ku meille huudeltiin koko ajan ja joku halus mun kaa jopa naimisiin. Ilmeisesti ihmiset tykkäs mun tukasta koska sitä kehuttiin :D Kuitenki, käveltiin katu läpi ja napattiin muutamat kuvat, ei siinä sitte muuta.

Thanks for wi-fi we were able to use Google Maps and found the right way! :D Well, Times Square sure was something. Especially when it was dark the lights were amazing. It was just so annoying when we got too much attention from guys and someone even wanted to marry me. Apparently people liked my hair a lot. Anyway, we walked through Times Square and took some photos.

Oltiin aika poikki kävelystä ja matkalla hotellille piipahdettiin TAAS Starbucksissa (tän postauksen jälkeen en enää sano erikseen millon käytiin siellä koska me käytiin varmaan 5 kertaa joka päivä :D) tällä kertaa ottamassa jotain kylmää ja raikasta.

Totuttiin heti aikaeroon hyvin, ainaki luulin niin ennenku kuulin jet lagista, eli aikaerorasituksesta, jossa syvän unen osuus lisääntyy alkuyöstä, mutta varhanen aamuherääminen on tavallista (regards Wikipedia). Mulla kävi tismalleen tollee! :D

We were pretty exhausted from all the walking so once again we went to Starbucks (OK, after this entry I won't separately tell when we visited Starbucks because we did it like 5 times a day :D) to get some cold and fresh to drink. 

We got used to the time difference pretty well, or at least I thought so before hearing about jet lag, which means you are fast asleep when you go to sleep but still wake up early. Haha, I hope you guys understood! But that's exactly what happened to me! :D

Ja viimesessä kuvassa meijän hotellihuone, jossa ton tilan lisäks oli vaan vessa. Huone oli siis tosi pieni, mut mukava ja työntekijät siellä oli ihan ylikivoja :D Me jopa kirjoteltiin pieniä viestejä meijän siivoojan kanssa aina tipin yhteydessä :D Kuvassa myös maailman hirvein jääkahvi ja illan viimeset juomat!

In the last picture there is our hotel room which was very small, but cozy. The staff was extremely nice and we even swapped little notes with our cleaner :D In the picture also the most disgusting iced coffee ever (sorry Carlos :D) and our last drinks we took before going to the hotel.

Ekasta päivästä jäi vähän sekava, mutta kiva olo. Kaikki oli niin erilaista ja en osaa ees kuvailla miten onnellinen ja kodikas olo mulla oli koko ajan :) Vielä jäi paljon nähtävää, niistä lisää seuraavissa postauksissa!

The first day really made an impression on me but I also felt a little confused. Everything was so different and I can't even describe how happy and cozy I felt all the time :) There was still a lot to see and experience but I will tell more about that stuff in the next entries!  

Planning the time of my life

Hehe moi! Kello on melkein 11 aamupäivällä ja mun seuraava tunti alkaa vasta klo 2, eikä mulla oo mitään järkevää tekemistä. Aattelin siis kirjotella pienet kuulumiset ku tänne blogiin edelleen päivittäin eksytään :-D Enhän mä oo tauolla ees kauheen kauaa ollu oikeestaan mut tuntuu ihan hirveen pitkältä ajalta! Lopettaminen oli erittäin hyvä päätös ku vertaa mun elämää nyt siihen mitä se oli silloin 24/7 kestävän paineen alla. Oon alottanu mm. salilla käynnin ja lenkkeilyn, ruvennu syömään suht terveellisesti ja säännöllisesti, käyny koulua kunnolla ja viikonloppusin töissä. Siis vau, oikeesti :D

Hiya! It's almost 11AM and my next class starts at 2PM and I have nothing productive to do at the moment, so I thought I could update a few words because I still have daily visitors :-D I haven't been without writing for a long time but it sure has felt like one! Quitting has turned out to be a good idea when comparing my current life to the life I had before quitting; having pressure 24/7 because of updating. I have started going to the gym and jogging, begun to eat pretty healthy and regularly, studied well at school and worked at weekends. For real, WOW! :D

Mulla on nyt edessä aika paljon matkustelua; Amerikkaan tän kuun lopussa, ens kevään alussa Kreikkaan ja Ranskaan ja jos kaikki menee hyvin lähen vielä uudestaan Amerikkaan about vuoden päästä PAX Prime-nimiseen pelitapahtumaan mun amerikkalaisen ystävän kanssa. Toivoisin todella pääseväni sinne koska Suomessa ei todellakaan oo tollasia tapahtumia + pääsisin tapaamaan The Runaway Guyssit, eli kolme suosituinta Let's Playeria, joista yks on CHUGGAACONROY !!! ♥ Mut ei, Emile ei oo se pääsyy miks haluun sinne :-D Kirjotan varmasti tarkempaa tietoa PAXista kuhan ilmottautuminen ja lippujen osto avautuu!

This and next year are going to be full of travelling; at the end of this month I'm going to America, at the end of next spring I'm going to Greece and France AND if everything goes as planned I'm going to America once more with a dear friend of mine to attend PAX Prime which is held at the end of next summer. I really wish to go there because there will never be events like that in Finland + I would be able to meet The Runaway Guys - the most popular Let's Players and of course CHUGGAACONROY is one of them! But no, Emile is not the only reason for my visit :-D I will be writing more details of PAX when the registration opens!

Ja syy miks nyt kirjotan on se, että haluun postailla mun matkoista muistojen takia ja tulin kertoo sen tänne. Saatan ehkä joskus kirjotella jostain muustakin, mut tällä hetkellä kaikki raha mitä saan menee matkusteluun, joten mulla ei oo varaa ostella/käydä missään ku oon Suomessa (paitsi ok joskus jotain ehkä kerran kuussa :-D). Muutenkin keskityn nyt vaan kouluun, liikuntaan ja työhön.

And the reason I'm writing this now is because I want to update during my travelling in order to save the memories and I just came here to tell it. I might be updating about something else, but obviously all the money I make and get now are for travelling so I'm not able to buy anything/go anywhere nice in Finland (except maybe once in a month :-D). And I really want to focus on school, exercising and working for now.
